They say that all things, no matter how big or small, always begin first as just ideas. For us, that idea came years ago amidst one of the routine late night discussions at our university house. Should we have probably been studying? No question. But it was somewhere between 2-4 AM and the creative juices were flowing. That, coupled with the fact that we had just spent the entire day binging episodes of “Shark Tank”, and you had the proverbial perfect storm for a group of young, hungry college students trying to turn entrepreneur. The idea for a clothing company that would represent each major city and its people was born. As aspiring world travellers we felt, and still feel now, that every city has its own distinctly nuanced story to tell. But apart from the mundane, over saturated shelves of tourist gift shops, this wasn’t being represented enough through the medium of clothing. Once we had the idea our next step was to think of a name, and after hours of brainstorming the lightbulb finally clicked, and the Citywear brand was officially born. However, not quite, as we sadly lacked the time, resources or energy to start a clothing brand while studying in university and were forced to put the idea to the side. Almost four years later the isolation of the Covid pandemic gave us time to plan, and revived our entrepreneurial spirit. We are happy to declare that we’re back to finally bring our idea to life and finish the job that we started. We hope you enjoy our first drop, and trust us when we tell you it’s only the beginning.
